Requirements

  • Experience in operating CNC machines is an advantage
  • Completed a relevant apprenticeship with training as a cutting machine operator and able to demonstrate good, related experience
  • Broad awareness of HSE and the ability to work independently in a safe manner
  • Results-oriented work focus and ability to lift heavy weight of 25KG with the help of tools
  • Ability to work shifts over a weekly period and willing to work overtime at weekends as required
  • Willingness to gain industry experience and undergo internal development and training

Responsibilities

  • Operating and setting up CNC machining equipment in a workshop environment to ensure safety and reliability
  • Reading and understanding engineering drawings and specifications to determine dimensions of finished pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements
  • Starting and observing machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusting machine controls as required
  • Executing documentation of processes to enable quality product builds
  • Loading and unloading of parts into machines by using a crane to ensure successful setup for production and for logistics
