Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred (pre-employment assessment required if not held)
  • Trade school for machining practices preferred
  • Math skills to perform basic calculations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to read measuring equipment (calipers/micrometers)
  • Able to concentrate, focus, and pay strict attention to detail
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including eye, ear, and foot protection
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Run production on CNC machining center
  • Check and monitor parts being run
  • Capability to read basic dimensions and tolerances of a blueprint
  • Ensure quality standards are being met
  • Produce the proper amount of parts per machine cycle time
  • Deburr and blend all parts that are machined
  • Perform daily maintenance on machines (maintain fluid levels, empty chips, wipe down machine to remove coolant, dust, and debris)
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Fill out paperwork properly and maintain as necessary
  • Attendance (always here and on time)
  • Operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines and conventional machines to fabricate parts
  • Load parts in machine, cycle machine, detect malfunctions (e.g., worn or damaged cutting tools)
  • Run production lots
  • Communicate with co-workers regarding production runs
