Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in production-related systems and procedures
  • May require vocational or technical education, certification, or vocational training
  • Full job knowledge of production-related systems and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education
  • Ability to work under moderate supervision with general instructions for routine work and detailed instructions for new activities
  • Ability to perform intermediate activities requiring judgment and decision-making in manufacturing/production operations or distribution centers

Responsibilities

  • Operate light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and equipment such as small lathes, power mills, extruding machines, drills, punch presses, power brakes, shears, or saws (including Amnsesia FFS machine)
  • Set up machining machines, make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines
  • Check work using prescribed gauges, jigs, and fixtures to measure close tolerances
  • Operate numerically controlled machines
  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
  • Provide support in manufacturing operations and/or distribution centers, including assembly, machinery, processing, packaging, and/or distribution of company products
  • Set up and operate automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in continuous production/processing operations
  • Report any malfunctions or abnormalities in machines; recommend and/or make adjustments to methods and processes
  • May be involved in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or storage of products in distribution centers
  • Work on clerical assignments in distribution center that may require application of prior experience
  • Highlight areas of concerns/problems in own job area
  • Provide guidance and assistance to new or entry-level employees
