Candidates should possess a Master’s or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering, and have a proven track record of 5+ years architecting software solutions for Machine Learning, acceleration, and optimization, particularly in large distributed training systems and HPC environments. They must demonstrate knowledge of Machine Learning market trends, technological advancements, and the software ecosystem, along with experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or PaddlePaddle, and familiarity with CPUs, GPUs, memory systems, and accelerators. Strong C++ skills and experience with performance simulation and modeling are also required, alongside excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese.
As a Machine Learning System Software Architect, the individual will be responsible for creating differentiated architectural innovations for Baidu’s Kunlun AI SoC roadmap, architecting and simulating machine learning solutions, developing system-level ML architectures focused on performance, power, and latency, collaborating with various teams to optimize the hardware and software stack, monitoring industry trends, evaluating architectural options, building scalable tools for modeling and performance evaluation, and engaging with system and application software engineers to ensure overall system optimization. They will also work with SoC design, verification, and validation engineers to execute the architecture and drive partnerships for access to advanced AI technologies.
