Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week and some Saturdays (3rd shift: Monday-Friday 12:30pm-9:00pm, additional hours/weekends as needed)

  • Project management concepts/principles knowledge a plus
  • Root Cause Analysis, Pareto, and flow charts knowledge
  • Understanding of evaluating processes and people to optimize product handling, product flow, and layouts

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day functions of Logistics or Value Add team(s), ensuring goals are met or exceeded
  • Supervise day-to-day operation of assigned department/shift within the distribution/value add center consisting of non-exempt tactical personnel
  • Participate in staffing, terminations, disciplinary counseling, performance management, and development in conjunction with management and HR (elevate complex issues)
  • Report and track team metrics, respond to internal customer inquiries (elevate or work with facility management on complex issues)
  • Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion
  • Participate in strategic planning and process improvement through CPI or Lean principles (receives guidance from manager)
  • Accountable for results of small-sized routine support or production operations teams
  • Solve problems based on set policies and procedures
  • Ensure performance of department goals, including allocation of headcount and process improvements to analyze and improve efficiency
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries
  • Participate in making basic improvement enhancements
  • Responsible for performance efficiency, service level, time worked, quality reporting and improvement, performance metrics, performance tracking, and overall associate engagement
  • Work with manager to determine courses of action for budgetary responsibility
  • Typically does not spend more than 20% of time performing the work supervised
