Position Overview

WHI Solutions, an eBay company, is a leading technology provider in the automotive industry, delivering B2B e-commerce and cataloging products. Our platform, Nexpart, powers parts procurement for thousands of locations and hundreds of thousands of professional buyers, driving over $5 billion in annual Gross Merchandise Value (GMV).

We are seeking a Linux DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team. This role is crucial for building, securing, and maintaining highly available systems for Nexpart and other WHI Solutions platforms. You will collaborate with DevOps, engineering, and security teams to enhance reliability, scalability, and performance.


Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage highly available Linux environments (RHEL / Rocky Linux).
  • Automate infrastructure using Python, Bash, Perl, and Ansible to improve operational efficiency.
  • Administer and tune Apache HTTP Server, Jetty, and Tomcat in production.
  • Implement vulnerability scanning and remediation using Tenable.
  • Collaborate with development teams on deployments, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
  • Architect and maintain high availability solutions and load balancing setups.
  • Architect, design, and deploy open-source platforms, frameworks, and applications.

Requirements

  • Education: BS or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on Linux administration experience (preferably RHEL or Rocky Linux).
  • Scripting: Strong scripting experience with Python, Bash, and Perl.
  • Automation: Advanced Ansible skills for configuration management and automation.
  • Web Servers: In-depth knowledge of Apache, Jetty, and Tomcat.
  • Security: Experience with Tenable or similar vulnerability management tools.
  • Architecture: Solid grasp of High Availability (HA) architectures and load balancing strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of CI/CD workflows and DevOps standard practices.
  • Background supporting PHP applications in production.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
  • Experience supporting MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, focusing on high performance and replication.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like CheckMK or Nagios.
  • Familiarity with the ELK stack (Elastic, Kibana, Logstash).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Pay: The base pay range for this position is expected between $83,200 and $146,900. Actual base pay will vary based on individualized factors including location, skills, and experience.
  • Total Compensation: May include a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable).
  • Benefits: A full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits (e.g., PTO, parental leave). Specific details will be provided upon offer of employment.
  • Employment Status: This is an "at-will position." The Company reserves the right to modify base salary and other compensation programs at any time.
