Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a preference for prior life underwriting experience and at least seven years of operational experience. They should demonstrate skills in relationship building, planning and directing work, decision-making, communication, and change management, along with strong project management skills and a demonstrated track record of obtaining results.
The Life Underwriting Manager will directly and manage the operations of an Underwriting unit, overseeing staff recruitment, training, and development, and coordinating division workflow. They will also monitor and interpret changes in employment legislation, conduct audits, deliver training, advise management on risk mitigation, participate in complex projects, serve as a communication liaison, develop and monitor customer service standards, and manage the budget for their unit.
