Requirements

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with an active license in the state of practice from the Board of Nursing (Upon Hire)
Or Medical Assistant (implied qualification for the role)
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work specified hours: M, W, Th, F 7-5:30 (38 hours per week, day shift)

Responsibilities

Perform general nursing care to patients
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards
Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic
Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing
Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider
Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure preferences to patients in emergency situations; maintain timely patient flow
Greet patients and prepare them for physical examination
Screen patients for appropriate information, including obtaining health history and taking vitals; document in patient chart
Instruct patients in collection of samples and tests
Respond to patient phone calls in a timely manner with appropriate input from the physician
Educate patients and families about diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness
Suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints
Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness; prepare list of medical supplies needed
Assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol; perform quality control and maintain records on all lab testing
