Requirements

  • At least 5 years PQE (qualified in Hong Kong, Singapore, US, UK or other comparable common law jurisdiction)
  • Excellent command of both English and Putonghua (spoken and written)
  • Legal and regulatory compliance experience in-house or in law firms
  • Professional legal knowledge and skills, especially in-depth understanding of overseas Internet, content licensing and other tech-related business (e.g., game publishing, cloud business, content licensing, open source compliance, AI)
  • Prior regional experience advising on various regulatory affairs in technology field (plus)
  • Prior experience in litigation and investigations, or working in a government regulatory body (advantage)
  • Keen interest and good understanding of developments in the internet technology space and its business impact (asset)
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills
  • Proactive approach and able to handle matters independently
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills, ability to collaborate within a team

Responsibilities

  • Provide fast and efficient legal compliance support at different stages of business development based on the specific legal environment (e.g., develop legal & compliance system, ensuring product and operational compliance, reviewing commercial contracts, handling IP licensing transactions)
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external teams (e.g., other legal teams, business partners, finance and tax teams, policy teams, PR teams, external partners such as law firms) to provide professional support for overseas business development
