Requirements

Candidates should possess a law degree from a reputable university, preferably from National Law School or a premier law school, and be a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. They should have 10+ years of post-qualification experience at a leading law firm and an in-house legal department of a tech MNC, with preference for experience in e-commerce and technology. Strong communication, analytical, and drafting skills in English are required, along with advocacy and consensus-building abilities.

Responsibilities

The Manager - Legal & Company Secretary will provide creative and practical legal advice across various areas including contracts, product compliance, consumer protection, employment, and intellectual property. They will manage civil and criminal complaints/litigation, resolve user disputes, handle corporate compliance matters under the Companies Act, implement a transformative legal operating model, manage outside counsel, monitor legislation changes, and support strategic business development projects at India and APAC level. Additionally, they will serve as company secretary for one eBay’s entity in India and work with the broader Asia-Pacific legal team across markets.
