Requirements

  • Pursuing a J.D. degree at an accredited U.S. law school, entering your second or third year of law school
  • Strong interest in learning about in-house legal practice
  • Knowledge of or desire to learn about legal operations, commercial contracting, privacy, marketing, and regulatory compliance
  • Adaptable and eager to learn new things
  • Superior written and oral communications skills; comfortable reaching out and initiating communication with team members and colleagues outside the legal team
  • Strong attention to detail and research skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and outcome-oriented
  • Able to work well independently and prioritize competing demands

Responsibilities

  • Support our global legal team in legal research, benchmarking, and drafting internal and external documents
  • Provide support for Bandwidth’s global contracting function, including assisting with the development of practical resources, guides, and training for our commercial legal team, as well as our global sales and procurement teams
  • Support complex commercial negotiations with global enterprise customers across a variety of industries, including contract review and attending client meetings
  • Support product counsel with various product go-to-market activities, including stakeholder input on customer-facing product terms and other commercial contracting requirements for both new and existing product initiatives
  • Conduct research and analysis in support of scalable contracting solutions–including AI technologies–and provide relevant and timely recommendations to team members
  • Participate in privacy program management, including planning, execution, and monitoring of company-wide programs and initiatives
  • Research, investigate, analyze, and help complete privacy records including records of processing, PIAs/DPIAs, and privacy by design review
  • Research, investigate, and analyze new AI laws and technologies and make recommendations to team members based on what you’ve learned
  • Draft memos, emails, slides, and talking points
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with members of other departments
  • Assist with vendor and customer screening and/or risk assessment
  • Assist with the development of regulatory and compliance resources, guides, and training for our global employee base
