Requirements

  • Masters’ Degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related engineering field
  • Three (3) years of experience as a process engineer or manufacturing engineer or related occupation
  • At least three (3) years’ experience with each of the following: Leading Programmatic Savings projects including financial feasibility evaluation, planning and execution; Assessing manufacturing workflows to develop multi-year improvement roadmaps; Coaching and mentoring multidisciplinary teams on manufacturing strategies; Facilitating and coaching Lean Six Sigma certification curriculum; Facilitating strategy deployment sessions and organizational alignment; Improving manufacturing capacity in accordance with financial planning; Leading implementation of continuous improvement across value stream functions; Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, incorporating GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), 8D Problem Solving, Kaizen and DMAIC; and Leading CAPA investigation
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Ability to work hybrid model onsite in Tempe, AZ – 4 days per week

Responsibilities

  • Lead, deploy, and implement Lean and Continuous Improvement throughout the Medtronic operating unit
  • Initiate deployment activities to ensure improvement actions are linked to strategic and tactical objectives, emphasizing efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing and business processes
  • Perform value assessments to identify key areas for improvement opportunities and create improvement plans that meet business goals
  • Lead various Lean transformation and Six Sigma projects
  • Lead Programmatic Savings projects including financial feasibility evaluation, planning and execution
  • Assess manufacturing workflows to develop multi-year improvement roadmaps with associated milestones in line with plant maturity
  • Coach and mentor multidisciplinary teams on manufacturing strategies specific to Medtronic Performance System (MPS)
  • Facilitate and mentor Lean Six Sigma certification curriculum to the site
  • Facilitate strategy deployment sessions and organizational alignment to accelerate improvement of operations
  • Participate on leadership team of a large-scale Medtronic manufacturing plant, with associated quality, capacity, financial planning processes
  • Deploy continuous improvement methodologies across a value stream, including functions of operations, engineering, quality and facilities
  • Utilize lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies incorporating GMP, 8D Problem Solving, Kaizen and DMAIC to reduce waste in production and improve process capability
  • Understand and coordinate CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) programs
  • Elevate performance in the Tempe Technology Center through deployment of the Medtronic Performance System (MPS)
