Requirements

  • Industry expert regarding engineering product design, development, standards, and architectures
  • History of innovation with multiple examples of developing industry-leading technologies and practices for designs

Responsibilities

  • Define innovative strategy and technology roadmaps for the design and development of complex products, platforms, systems, software, and technology across multiple engineering disciplines, platforms, Global Business Units, and the company at large
  • Conduct hands-on POCs and technology evaluations, participate in architecture and code reviews, define technical direction and best practices
  • Be a technical focal point for escalations on ongoing issues
  • Advise executive staff on strategy and technology roadmaps, communicate to industry partners and customers; leverage recognized technical and business expertise to influence, guide, and shape business strategy and decision-making at the highest organizational levels
  • Leverage industry expertise to provide consultation, design input, and feedback for new product development and design reviews across multiple organizations and architectures
  • Demonstrate leadership by participating in the technical community, as well as guiding and mentoring less-experienced team members to set an example of engineering design innovation and excellence
  • Actively participate in and contribute valuable insights to the process of selecting future leaders, shaping the trajectory of leadership within the organization
  • Responsible for creating and communicating technical strategy within the organization and/or across the function
  • Advise executives and higher management on technical aspects of the wider organisation
  • Take responsibility for organisation's architecture and engineering excellence
