Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with 5+ years of experience, or a Masters Degree with 5+ years of experience
  • Experience in mechanical product design, electronics packaging design, familiar with plastic, metal, injection molding parts design and manufacturing process
  • Expertise with CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, Ansys – Structural and Thermal analysis desirable)
  • Experience with full product cycle from concept to stable production
  • Experience in Verification and Validation testing of Hardware products
  • Experience with reliability testing and Design for Reliability tools
  • Exposure to Medical device industry
  • Demonstrated program/project planning capability
  • Demonstrated project leadership and influencing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to mechanical design projects
  • Utilize 3D design software to create detailed models and drawings
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in mechanical engineering design and processes
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in the development of new products and product enhancements
  • Lead technical design reviews for concept solutions, detailed designs, and evaluation of results with cross-functional and/or global teams
  • Lead development activities at supplier end e.g., tooling and ensure successful outcomes
  • Perform design integration, verification, validation, FMEA, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability analysis/testing
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time completion
  • Understand key business drivers and adhere to GEHC standards, industry standards, Medical device safety, and regulatory requirements
