Requirements

Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a fabrication/welding shop environment, with demonstrated experience managing or supervising teams and providing mentorship on complex fabrication projects. Strong proficiency in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) across a variety of materials, including thin walls through Schedule 90+ piping is required, along with knowledge of AWS, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, and API standards.

Responsibilities

The Lead Fabricator will supervise, mentor, and provide direction to fabrication team members, equitably assigning tasks based on expertise, interest, and strengths. They will coordinate workloads, ensure timely completion, and maintain high-quality standards, conducting training sessions on equipment capabilities and safety. The role involves fabricating prototypes to support engineering development, welding and assembling complex components accurately, developing specialized fabrication tooling, setting up and maintaining advanced equipment, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Furthermore, the Lead Fabricator will collaborate with engineering teams, communicate project status, prioritize workplace safety, identify process improvements, and support the implementation of new fabrication methods and workflows. They will also perform safety audits and risk assessments, addressing identified hazards, and proactively propose fabrication solutions.
