Requirements

Professional licenses in counseling, social work, and/or marital/family therapy
Training and expertise in diagnostic criteria for substance use disorders and/or mental health issues
Thorough knowledge of caseload management and rehabilitation methods, principles, and techniques related to mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment services
Detailed knowledge of problems encountered by persons with mental health and/or substance use disorders
Considerable knowledge of methods, modalities, legal requirements, and court procedures related to treating mental health and/or substance use disorders

Responsibilities

Provide individual, group, family, and/or other practical counseling in various settings to meet client/patient needs and treatment goals
Complete intake/screening and/or comprehensive assessments within designated time frames per state regulatory/accreditation/agency standards
Determine and document diagnosis based on comprehensive assessment
Develop individualized treatment plans that evolve based on assessment information, in accordance with standards
Participate in clinical staffing/treatment meetings and provide feedback on pertinent cases
Meet department-specific Collaborative Service Goal (CSG) requirements
Work with internal departments to ensure authorized services are approved and adequate information is provided within time frames
Document all services in accordance with standards, ensuring entry within time frames, appropriate format, and reference to treatment plans
Correct file/charting deficiencies within appropriate time frames
Assist clients/patients through transition processes and complete final correspondence (e.g., transition summary, plan, letter)
Complete all mandatory training per standards
Represent the agency professionally in the community
Maintain positive, professional relationships with referral sources, clients/patients, and coworkers, adhering to Code of Ethics and agency policies
Handle crisis situations, participate in or coordinate emergency services for rapid aid
Provide professional/clinical supervision to individuals in training once requirements are met
Facilitate group counseling, group education, family therapy, individual sessions, and specialty services (e.g., trauma, co-occurring therapy)
Provide training and guidance on clinical issues and evidence-based practices
Offer clinical consultation to treatment team members when necessary
Demonstrate interest in company’s long-term and short-term goals and objectives
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
