Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in design (international experience beneficial)
  • Bachelor’s degree in architectural, interior design, environmental design or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of design processes and computer systems (AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Enscape)
  • Ability to sketch design ideas and visually communicate concept development thoughts ideation
  • Retail industry experience preferred, including knowledge of retail environments, concepts, programs, and their consumer impact
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations; proven ability to communicate complex/sensitive topics to senior leadership
  • Ability to source, screen, and manage contractors/external vendors, including design and production studios/agencies across multiple territories
  • Proven ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions, territories, and global
  • Self-starter with ability to take initiative
  • Willingness to travel 5–15% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Evolve retail concepts and stores, support enhanced product presentation and service engagement, aligning with global concepts creative direction
  • Elevate and strengthen premium and purposeful storytelling across retail consumer touch points
  • Define, pilot, perfect, and scale design solutions
  • Lead projects, project teams, and agencies; establish direction and advance projects by others on a per-project basis
  • Collaborate with peers, design counterparts, and partner groups to ensure project design continuity across all areas of focus
  • Leverage design processes and practices to ensure design results, timelines, and budgets are met
  • Communicate and present design concepts to team/Design Director/Sr Creative Director; build presentation materials that effectively communicate design intent
  • Effectively elevate concerns to Sr Store Design Manager in a timely and accurate manner
  • Develop and realize innovative, original retail environments and programs that reflect Nike’s design ethos and improve the consumer retail experience
  • Work across design subject areas such as Architecture, Fixtures, Materials, and Digital; ideate creative concepts, illustrate ideas, and lead projects to completion
