Requirements

  • Performs a variety of routine and some non-routine analysis functions in general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or other financial departments
  • Ability to review and approve high complexity account reconciliations, ensuring accurate balances and timely correction of reconciling items
  • Skills in gathering, preparing, analyzing, and presenting metrics or assigned reporting for supported business units
  • Oversight and monitoring of the accounting close process, including month-end account analysis and reconciliations
  • Experience maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley internal control narratives and testing documentation
  • Pursues process improvements, standardizes and streamlines procedures, creates written desktop procedures, and provides training
  • Oversight of AR/AP responsibilities for M&A activities, such as system and process integrations
  • Ability to conduct insightful assessments of internal and external business landscapes with awareness of financial implications and big picture impact
  • Handles broad and complex assignments requiring significant originality, ingenuity, and latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions
  • Issue resolution and customer-facing skills, communicating with internal and external customers, with errors potentially having business and financial impact
  • Acts in an advisory capacity, making recommendations impacting the organization’s business, negotiates, persuades, and gains consensus from cross-functional teams and management
  • Works with minimal supervision, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, with a wide degree of creativity required
  • Directs and coordinates the work of a group or team of accounting analysts; provides functional advice or training to less-experienced analysts
  • Critical thinking: using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions
  • Organizing, planning, and prioritizing work: developing goals and plans to accomplish work
  • Complex problem solving: identifying problems, reviewing information, developing and evaluating options, and implementing solutions
  • Demonstrates a conceptual understanding of accounting and finance principles

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve high complexity account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely correction of reconciling items
  • Gather, prepare, analyze, and present metrics or assigned reporting for supported business units
  • Provide oversight and monitoring of the accounting close process, including performing month-end account analysis and reconciliations
  • Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley internal control narratives and testing documentation for areas of responsibility
  • Actively pursue process improvements, standardize and streamline procedures, create written desktop procedures, and train staff
  • Partner ongoing with customers to improve service levels and meet needs
  • Oversee AR/AP responsibilities for M&A activities, such as system and process integrations
  • Make recommendations to maximize production efficiencies by implementing standards and streamlining processes
  • Research and correct reconciliation discrepancies and handle special projects
  • Direct and coordinate the work of a group or team of accounting analysts
  • Provide functional advice or training to less-experienced accounting analysts
  • Ensure reporting and analysis is accurate, complete, and communicates key issues
