Responsibilities

  • Performing phlebotomy
  • Drug and alcohol testing
  • Operating and maintaining waived lab equipment
  • Taking lab orders from physician’s offices
  • Requesting faxed orders with diagnosis and signatures
  • Notifying providers of orders that do not meet lab criteria
  • Representing the laboratory by screening incoming telephone calls
  • Recording and transmitting messages
  • Scheduling, receiving, and announcing scheduled patients and visitors
