Requirements

  • Min. bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • At least 10 years of Generalist HR work experience in a corporate environment
  • Minimum of 5 years responsibility for complex labor relation matters
  • Proven professional experience in managing works council relationships
  • Fluent in written and verbal English
  • Fluent in written and verbal German
  • Advanced MS Office user and technology literacy
  • Continuous learning on the point of need and using feedback for self-development

  • Ability to plan activities in line with agreed goals and manage shifting priorities

Responsibilities

  • Manage works council consultations on assigned projects from creating and aligning the engagement strategy to implementing collective agreements
  • Contribute to the overall works council relationship management and support strategic labor relation projects
  • Ensure effective partnership with the HR DACH team, business leaders and relevant project stakeholders
  • Lead change management initiatives which include involvement of works councils
  • Work closely with the People & Culture team and business leaders in the DACH region as well as with global People & Culture functions to understand the context and business impact of works council consultation subjects
  • Plan consultation processes anticipating and mitigating risks in alignment with People & Culture and business stakeholders
  • Create, align and monitor project plans for consultation processes
  • Lead consultation processes on assigned projects, including negotiation of collective agreements
  • Co-ordinate activities to implement collective agreements (e.g. process adoption, communication, change management interventions)
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant works council committees
  • Take responsibility for collective conflict resolution procedures incl. arbitration
  • May support on resolving complex employee relations issues and address grievances
  • Maintain and update relevant documentation
  • Collaborate with People & Culture colleagues and external partners on various activities
  • Stay up to date to relevant regulations and jurisdiction
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and skills development in the team
  • Act as point of contact for business and People & Culture stakeholders on labor relation matters
  • Support People & Culture lead with special projects and tasks
  • Stand-in for peers
