Requirements

  • Knowledge and ability to carry out sampling of Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) requirements
  • Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and aseptic technique in Microbiological sampling of EMP samples (e.g., air samples, swabs, steam, water)
  • Work effectively with fellow technicians, demonstrating high motivation, attention to detail, and clear communication
  • Prioritize tasks efficiently and complete all sampling at the required frequency
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Comply with applicable GMPs, FDA, USDA, OSHA, and Abbott regulations, policies, procedures, or guidelines
  • Conduct sampling aseptically and safely per procedures
  • Perform environmental sampling in the production environment
  • Complete appropriate documentation for all samples collected
  • Prepare tools and paperwork for sample collection
  • Demonstrate accountability

Responsibilities

  • Carry out sampling for the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) and comply with department objectives
  • Perform microbiological sampling of EMP samples such as air samples, swabs, steam, and water
  • Complete housekeeping responsibilities including waste disposal and general laboratory sanitation
  • Report directly to the Lab Supervisor/FLL
