Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information systems; or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information systems
1+ years’ experience in database administration
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Experience managing enterprise-class databases (significant advantage)
Knowledge of T-SQL programming (writing SQL functions, procedures, and complex queries)
Knowledge of SQL tools

Responsibilities

Ensure databases are optimally configured and work with the development team to optimize database usage
Perform database-related performance tuning and optimization, including query profiling, table indexing, and database cleanup
Setup and manage replication topologies for high availability
Manage database security, granting/revoking permissions, and ensuring security practices are followed; perform periodical audit of database access rights
Design, implement, and test disaster recovery scenarios to minimize RTO and meet RPO goals
Ensure database backups are always current and available, and that testing policies are in place
Implement operational automation
Participate in on-call rotation schedule
Assist team with application issues
Organize large-scale complex DB projects into manageable deliverables and activities
Participate in the analysis and staging process of application developments, application deployments, and other support functions in the system development life cycle
