Desired majors: Occupational Safety & Health; Safety Management; Public Health; Industrial Hygiene; Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability; Fire Protection & Safety; Other related fields of study
Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree (or higher) seeking program for the duration of the experience
Strong academic performance
Authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
Availability to work 40 hours per week
Positions available Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters
Availability for multiple work terms is preferred
Valid driver's license required (travel may be involved with some positions)
Able to safely ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs and/or ladders, and lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
Military experience a plus

Responsibilities

Support all areas of the business in maintaining high standards for protecting people, the environment, and communities
Receive training in Health, Environment, Safety, Security, and Product Quality
Assist in implementing health, safety, and security planning and compliance activities
Conduct facility audits
Develop and deliver employee training programs
Perform industrial hygiene tasks, including design and implementation of industrial hygiene equipment
Maintain equipment
Participate in health, safety, and security projects
Conduct incident investigations
Support emergency preparedness and response
Assist with governmental inspections and compliance with government regulations
Interact with agencies and act as a liaison with other Marathon business units
Undertake other safety and security related projects
Write and submit reports for some projects
