  • Desired majors: Occupational Safety & Health; Safety Management; Public Health; Industrial Hygiene; Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability; Fire Protection & Safety; Other related fields of study
  • Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree (or higher) seeking program for the duration of the experience
  • Strong academic performance
  • Authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week
  • Positions available Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters
  • Availability for multiple work terms is preferred
  • Valid driver's license required (travel may be involved with some positions)
  • Able to safely ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs and/or ladders, and lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Military experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support all areas of the business in maintaining high standards for protecting people, the environment, and communities
  • Receive training in Health, Environment, Safety, Security, and Product Quality
  • Assist in implementing health, safety, and security planning and compliance activities
  • Conduct facility audits
  • Develop and deliver employee training programs
  • Perform industrial hygiene tasks, including design and implementation of industrial hygiene equipment
  • Maintain equipment
  • Participate in health, safety, and security projects
  • Conduct incident investigations
  • Support emergency preparedness and response
  • Assist with governmental inspections and compliance with government regulations
  • Interact with agencies and act as a liaison with other Marathon business units
  • Undertake other safety and security related projects
  • Write and submit reports for some projects
