Requirements

  • Experience within Women’s RTW categories, leading brand negotiations, OTB management, product selection and inseason trading
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key brands, industry trends and emerging designers
  • Strong commercial acumen, capable of balancing creative intuition with data-driven decision-making
  • Analytical mindset with proven ability to interpret sales data, sell-through, and market trends to inform buying strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in managing brand relationships and internal stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Designer RTW seasonal buying strategy, ensuring Browns' product assortment remains 'best of', innovative, relevant, and commercially successful
  • Lead in buying appointments, market, and showroom visits, managing the product selection and decision-making, leading brand negotiations and problem solving
  • Source and introduce exciting new brands and products, bold growth and conviction on opportunities in line with Browns’ brand identity and maximising FF supply opportunity
  • Secure exclusives, limited distribution collaborations / drops and OTB ambitions with key brands. Solidifying Browns as a priority partner
  • Weekly monitoring and reporting on sales performance, sell-through rates, and shifting/emerging market trends, providing insights to inform buying, trading and wider business decisions. Driving support where opportunity / risk is identified to drive sales
  • Collaborate closely with Merchandising to optimise and grow Open-To-Buy (OTB), effectively manage inventory and drive department performance
  • Proactively identify opportunities and risks, ensuring the assortment remains competitive and reactive to trading performance
  • Maintain 100% brand retention. Build and nurture strong relationships with existing and new brands, positioning Browns as a trusted, valued and strategic partner
  • Diversify brand portfolio through scaling high potential brands and launching new brands to maintain 'best of' category portfolio
  • Lead negotiations to secure improved/favourable terms, limited distribution access and exclusives
  • Oversee accurate and timely creation of purchase orders, product uploads, and vendor communication
  • Coordinate closely with Senior Buyer on store allocations, Marketing and Brand Partnership activations to ensure maximum exposure and visibility of buy and brand retention
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of trends, competitors and market developments, identifying strategic gaps and opportunities
