Provide technical support, troubleshooting, cost estimates, justifications, and recommendations
Produce technical documentation, support, and configuration
Manage, plan, and maintain technical platforms, including upgrading systems
Monitor system performance and install/configure hardware
Collaborate with Project Managers, Architects, Solution Engineers, Technicians, Business Analysts to deliver solutions leveraging AEP's standards, architectures, and best practices
Adhere to AEP’s approval processes for change management, incident management, and trouble response
Review and adhere to budgeting and approval processes; assist with annual and project planning
Five years in direct support of Network Operations in a large enterprise environment (preferably utility or energy sector) - nice to have
ServiceNow or similar ITIL experience - nice to have
Advanced understanding of network communications technologies; ability to analyze, troubleshoot, coordinate, and resolve complex network issues and projects
Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Strong knowledge and experience with IPAM-DDI solutions
Strong knowledge and experience supporting F5 DNS, GTM, and Local Traffic Manager (LTM)
Knowledge of network security practices
Familiarity with hardware (routers, switches, firewalls)
Experience with network monitoring tools
Knowledge in routing and switching protocols, WAN technologies (MPLS, Point to Point, MAN, Wireless), LAN technologies (design standards, best practices, Data Center design, Wireless), and security standards (firewall design, best practices)
Experience in Unix/Linux
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to communicate complex findings to various audiences
Maximo experience - preferred
Proficient in IBM Maximo for asset management, maintenance tracking, workflows, operational efficiency - preferred
Experience in implementation and customization of Maximo - preferred
