Requirements

  • 2 years industrial maintenance experience (including ammonia and electrical) or graduate from an industrial maintenance program or related discipline
  • Able and willing to operate and maintain ammonia screw compressor package for refrigeration and perform routine preventative maintenance on refrigeration equipment and make repairs as required to maintain proper food temperatures according to USDA and company standards
  • Able and willing to maintain ammonia evaporators and their control stations to ensure adequate temperatures in specific areas to meet USDA and company standards
  • Able and willing to maintain ammonia condensers to ensure efficiency and liquid levels in the ammonia vessels remain at the required points which complete the refrigeration cycle
  • Able and willing to maintain boilers and steam controls to facilitate processing, cooking and sanitation processes based on USDA and production requirements
  • Able and willing to maintain ammonia vessels and liquid pumps to adequately supply ammonia or oil or both to the appropriate areas to ensure that required temperatures are achieved as required per USDA and company production standards
  • Communication Skills: Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills will be necessary to log in information, to process daily work orders and to complete the required documentation. Able and willing to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Basic math skills: percentages, fractions, and measurements are necessary to perform this job at a satisfactory level
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70 lbs. occasionally and lift to 10 lbs. frequently; stand on hard surfaces for up to 12 hours per day; work in confined spaces; walk, climb, bend and stoop; repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling; work in temperatures ranging from 40-75 degrees; flexible regarding work hours & schedule
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Conduct chemical testing to maintain appropriate levels in the water to allow optimum performance of equipment and to prevent scaling of the tubes
