Requirements

  • High-school degree or equivalent
  • 3 or more years of experience with mechanical aptitude
  • Clear understanding and working knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems, electrical schematics, power distribution & controls, motor & motor controls, and other industrial controls
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, GMP's and general instructions
  • Good communication skills (talking on 2-way radios and telephone)
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out both oral and written instructions
  • Ability to report to work on time and work the entire scheduled shift (timely and regular attendance required)
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, complex, and busy environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a “can-do” mindset
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, overtime, or weekends as needed

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
  • Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner
  • Maintain assigned shift attendance
  • Work in all areas of production and packaging as assigned, including operating machinery, being in close proximity, and crossing platforms over machinery
  • Work as part of a team and assist fellow employees as needed
  • Review, follow, and write Job Safety Analyses and safe practices for the area
  • Manage scheduled on-shift and downtime maintenance work
  • Assist with identifying and ordering spare parts
  • Assist planner/scheduler with scheduling maintenance activities for team members, contractors, and other outside services
  • Make adjustments and repairs to machines to maintain operating efficiency and reliability
  • Perform preventative maintenance (some on shift and some on weekends)
  • Write and complete work orders for the area
  • Adhere to all Safety, GMP, Sanitation, Quality, and Team rules and procedures
