Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, with 2+ years of experience in medical device or related industry (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with standard office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize assignments while handling various projects simultaneously
  • Willingness and ability to work on site, with potential business travel (0-10%)
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds, move between buildings and floors, remain stationary and use office equipment for extended periods, read/write documents/spreadsheets, access file cabinets/supplies, and communicate accurately with employees at all levels
  • Medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industry experience (desired)
  • 2+ years of experience in a medical device industry role (desired)

Responsibilities

  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, work instructions, and other information to understand manufacturing and service methods/activities
  • Analyze systems to manufacture parts/products with maximum efficiency and quality, with minimal supervision
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and R&D engineers to identify equipment, process, and workspace layout improvements
  • Conduct Time Study Analysis, identify Value/Non-Value-added activities, present findings, and plan/implement improvement plans
  • Develop systems, processes, and procedures to enable high-level functioning of the Industrial Engineering Group
  • Develop, support, and train Penumbra employees on Lean Manufacturing programs
  • Mentor and train Industrial Engineers, advancing their Lean Manufacturing skills and concepts
  • Ensure facility efficiency, workplace safety, and a safe/compliant work environment
  • Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and domestic/global quality regulations, standards, and procedures
  • Understand and adhere to relevant security, privacy, and compliance principles/regulations
  • Ensure department members follow QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned
