Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, or equivalent. Relevant certifications are a plus
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the related field
Experience in Indirect Tax North America (Sales and Use Tax) and Canada (GST and PST) is an added advantage
Good written and spoken English
Skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Shift hours: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM MYT (on-site role)

Responsibilities

Serve as the focal person for operation for advice on all indirect tax queries related to US and Canada, including the resolution of tax disputes
Ensure compliance with Canadian and US indirect tax regulations, including GST/HST, PST, QST, and SUT, by accurately preparing, reviewing, and submitting tax returns on time
Analyze and reconcile tax accounts, ensuring proper documentation and resolution of discrepancies related to Sales and Use Tax, GST, Unclaimed Property, and other indirect taxes
Support audits and assessments by preparing documentation, responding to auditor queries, and implementing corrective actions as needed
Manage the end-to-end process of Exemption Certificate and Unclaimed Property
Assist in process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of indirect tax reporting and compliance
