Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, or equivalent. Relevant certifications are a plus
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the related field
  • Experience in Indirect Tax North America (Sales and Use Tax) and Canada (GST and PST) is an added advantage
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Shift hours: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM MYT (on-site role)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the focal person for operation for advice on all indirect tax queries related to US and Canada, including the resolution of tax disputes
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and US indirect tax regulations, including GST/HST, PST, QST, and SUT, by accurately preparing, reviewing, and submitting tax returns on time
  • Analyze and reconcile tax accounts, ensuring proper documentation and resolution of discrepancies related to Sales and Use Tax, GST, Unclaimed Property, and other indirect taxes
  • Support audits and assessments by preparing documentation, responding to auditor queries, and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Manage the end-to-end process of Exemption Certificate and Unclaimed Property
  • Assist in process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of indirect tax reporting and compliance
