IAM Operations Engineer (Remote)
CrowdstrikeFull Time
Junior (1 to 2 years)
The ideal candidate will have an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, though this is not strictly required. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Identity and Access Management systems is necessary, with at least 2 years focused on Okta or similar platforms. Proven experience administering SSO integrations (SAML, OIDC), SCIM or API-based provisioning, and authentication/security policies in Okta is essential. Familiarity with RBAC initiatives across enterprise SaaS environments and a strong understanding of IAM principles like least privilege, segregation of duties, and lifecycle management are also required. Experience with Okta Device Access (ODA) on macOS and Windows is a plus.
The IAM Engineer will manage and optimize the Okta environment, including administering SSO, SCIM, and lifecycle management integrations for over 200 SaaS applications. Responsibilities include maintaining authentication policies, MFA rules, and adaptive security settings, as well as supporting Okta Identity Governance and Access Requests. The engineer will partner with stakeholders to implement RBAC models, conduct access reviews and audits, and improve IAM hygiene through automation and documentation. Collaboration with IT Engineering and InfoSec to streamline provisioning/deprovisioning flows, reduce manual intervention using tools like Okta Workflows, and act as a technical SME for IAM are also key duties. This includes consulting with departments, assisting with new application onboarding, supporting vendor risk assessments, and participating in broader infrastructure tasks.
