Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations
  • Works from visual aids, method layouts, diagrams, schematics, process flow sheets, and written or verbal assembly instructions
  • Sets initial layouts and uses a variety of tools to prepare product(s)
  • Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies
  • Conducts quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications
  • Disassembles, modifies, reworks, reassembles, and tests experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions
  • Provides support in manufacturing operations and/or distribution centers including assembly, machinery, processing, packaging, and/or distribution of company products
  • Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation
  • Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities in machines (higher levels may recommend and/or make adjustments to methods and processes)
  • May be involved in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or storage of products in distribution centers
  • Performs intermediate activities requiring judgment and decision-making in manufacturing/production operations or distribution center
  • Works on clerical assignments in distribution center that may require application of prior experience
  • Highlights areas of concerns / problems in own job area
  • Communicates with internal contacts within and outside of immediate team, obtaining and providing information requiring some explanation or interpretation
  • May provide guidance and assistance to new or entry level employees
