Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety/Engineering
  • 3+ years of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) experience in a continuous improvement manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Valued partner to Plant Manager in executing plant safety strategies
  • Coach staff/supervisors/hourly in leadership behaviors to improve communication, safety, and activities
  • Anticipates, identifies, and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices
  • Applies and uses the hierarchy of controls to eliminate hazards and reduce risks
  • Implements and administers hazard control programs
  • Monitors legislative changes and makes recommendations based on their potential impact
  • Performs safety evaluations and site-level self-audits
  • Leads site safety committee and ergonomics programs
  • Maintains working relationships with Regulatory Agencies
  • Provides hands-on guidance to facility managers & supervisors regarding incident reporting/investigation
  • Reviews incidents, ensures Root Cause Analysis is completed, and drives corrective actions
  • Maintains facility training calendar and ensures training records are maintained
  • Facilitates applicable internal safety training
  • Provides internal support for workers’ compensation cases
  • Facilitate new hire safety on-boarding
  • Maintain metrics in accordance with company Leadership requirements
