Requirements

  • Ability to monitor and manage power, cooling capacity, and environmental conditions in the data center
  • Capability to act as a first responder to incidents within the data center envelope
  • Skills to manage workflow for planned and unplanned data center work, ensuring timely completion
  • Knowledge to ensure processes adhere to federal and local safety laws and policies

  • Proficiency in developing, revising, executing operating procedures, preventive maintenance inspections, and performing quality control reviews
  • Competence in resolving electrical and mechanical issues promptly, minimizing risk, and communicating to leadership
  • Capacity to respond to emergencies and critical issues independently or as a team for complete recovery
  • Skills in gathering data, troubleshooting, documenting technical issues, escalating appropriately, and ensuring resolution
  • Ability to maintain accurate facility data, including rounds, PM work orders, change incidents, and problem management
  • Capability to develop and maintain documentation, operating procedures, and facility data for value-add metrics
  • Adherence to change control activities and assisting in improving systems
  • Effectiveness in working with outside contractors, ensuring compliance with critical facility work and safety rules

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the daily operation of the data center from a service delivery perspective
  • Utilize, understand, and evaluate data from CMMS and BMS to monitor infrastructure health and maintenance effectiveness
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance of data center electrical and mechanical equipment and manage communication with stakeholders
  • Assist with development, revision, and execution of operating procedures and preventive maintenance inspections; perform quality control reviews
  • Resolve all electrical and mechanical issues within the data center promptly, minimizing risk and communicating to leadership
  • Respond to emergencies and critical issues as necessary to achieve complete recovery
  • Gather data and readings, troubleshoot and document technical issues, escalate as appropriate, and ensure issue resolution
  • Maintain accurate facility data, including rounds, preventive maintenance work orders, change incidents, and problem management
  • Develop and maintain documentation alongside operating procedures and facility data to create value-add metrics
  • Maintain strict adherence to change control activities and assist in improving systems
