Requirements

Candidates should possess a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in shop or field heavy equipment troubleshooting and repair, along with technical certifications or an Associate’s Degree. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical theories and principles is required, as well as the ability to work within set time parameters, multi-task, and follow procedures. Applicants must be able to obtain a forklift license and have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and must furnish tools suitable for heavy equipment repair.

Responsibilities

Heavy Equipment Service Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting and performing complex repairs on heavy equipment, including pumps, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, HVAC, and electrical issues, both in the shop and in the field. They also perform preventative maintenance according to schedules, complete work orders in a timely manner, maintain daily truck inspection logs, communicate effectively with the service manager, and maintain a clean and orderly work area. Additionally, Service Technicians work with all departments to respond to customer needs, and demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills for daily reporting.
