Requirements
Candidates should possess a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in shop or field heavy equipment troubleshooting and repair, along with technical certifications or an Associate’s Degree. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical theories and principles is required, as is the ability to work within set time parameters, multi-task, and follow procedures. Applicants must also be able to obtain a forklift license, have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and be able to lift and handle heavy loads up to 55 lbs.
Responsibilities
The Heavy Equipment Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and performing complex repairs on heavy equipment, including pumps, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, HVAC, and electrical issues, both in the shop and in the field. They will also perform preventative maintenance, complete work orders in a timely manner, maintain daily truck inspection logs, communicate effectively with the service manager, and maintain a clean and orderly work area. Furthermore, the technician will work with all departments to respond to customer needs and possess good written and verbal communication skills for daily reporting.
