Requirements

Candidates should possess a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in shop or field heavy equipment troubleshooting and repair, along with technical certifications or an Associate’s Degree. They must have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical theories and principles, the ability to work within set time parameters, multi-task, and follow procedures, and the ability to work with limited supervision and independent judgment. Candidates should also be able to obtain a forklift license, furnish tools suitable for heavy equipment repair, and have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

The Heavy Equipment Service Technician will troubleshoot and perform complex repairs on heavy equipment, including pumps, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, HVAC, and electrical issues, both in the shop and field. They are responsible for performing preventative maintenance as scheduled, completing work orders in a timely manner, maintaining daily truck inspection logs, communicating effectively with the service manager, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. Furthermore, they will provide high-quality repair service to meet customer needs in a responsive, friendly, educated, and timely manner, working with all departments to respond to customer needs.
