Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 7 - 10 years of related Commercial Insurance experience
  • 3 years of recent, direct team management experience
  • Strong knowledge of program and reinsurance structures
  • Coursework completed towards CPCU, ARM, or other relevant commercial insurance industry designations preferred but not required
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial P&C insurance

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior service delivery to underwriters, brokers and clients across all aspects of the policy lifecycle
  • Manage underwriting support staff for all lines of business in the Netherlands
  • Contribute to the country’s Senior Management Team (SMT) and keep business and functional leaders updated on status/developments in Global Operations
  • Actively manage the team of ~10 in-country Underwriting Assistants, including hiring, performance management, development, and schedule coordination
  • Serve as the key point of contact for business process outsourcing providers (e.g., Accenture), manage and monitor service delivery, highlight risks, forecast transaction volumes, and review invoice accuracy
  • Identify servicing issues with Shared Services, document them, and work with management to resolve
  • Assume an active role in projects, particularly the implementation of the Standard Commercial Underwriting Platform (SCUP) transformation, and contribute to process design and operating model considerations
  • Communicate and collaborate across the EMEA region to contribute to process standardization and support design/implementation of underwriting operating models
  • Interact with the local insurance market, develop relationships with brokers and stakeholders (e.g., TPAs), and represent AIG in market bodies and forums (e.g., eABS)
  • Track and translate quality, processing timeliness, productivity, and service delivery requirements into metrics; recommend performance measurements; review and manage production/quality control processes
  • Ensure compliance with insurance & taxation laws and compliance requirements/procedures
  • Work closely with IT, project management, and business analysts on projects; act as subject matter expert for requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment; act as change agent for adoption
  • Serve as point of contact for Internal Audit, ensure compliance with guidelines, and assist with responses/action plans to findings
  • Attend underwriting reviews/operational meetings, report on process/regulatory changes, backlogs, etc., capture takeaways, and implement action plans
