Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, Chartered Accountant, or similar professional designation is preferred. Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or MBA) is a plus
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in accounting & finance, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role. Preferably including scale-up experience
  • Experience in a complex finance environment with multiple European entities and deep knowledge of German GAAP and IFRS
  • Proven track record in managing finance transformation projects, including process automation and migration and improvements of ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA or similar) and related projects
  • Hands-on mentality and ability to navigate fast-paced and agile environments
  • AI tooling, agentic AI experience is a plus
  • Self-starter, with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and German (C1 minimum)

Responsibilities

  • Support, lead, and mentor four direct reports, fostering their growth and development
  • Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for accounting, tax, and financial compliance to support growth objectives
  • Champion best practices, drive automation of standard accounting processes, simplify our systems landscape, and ensure appropriate systems support for the financial and processes along the asset and customer lifecycle which are key to our business model
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in accounting and tax functions, leveraging technology and process automation
  • Partner with the IT team and guide our Payments team to ensure our payment service provider landscape is best practice and cost-efficient
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing accounting and tax team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation
  • Oversee all aspects of financial reporting and compliance with German GAAP (HGB)
  • Ensure the timely and accurate closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts, with a focus on high-quality and audit-ready financial statements
  • Establish and monitor a system of internal controls together with the group accounting team to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
