Requirements

  • Designated as a Material Risk Taker (MRT)
  • Strong understanding of branch operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
  • Full conversance in financial crime regulatory change
  • Ability to represent the organization in industry working groups and forums
  • Technical expertise to advise senior management on regulatory and legal requirements
  • Ability to interact with key risk functions (e.g., Legal, Operations, Fraud teams)
  • Collaboration skills with Regional and Global AML compliance colleagues
  • Profile as a leading AML Subject Matter Expert (SME) with Branch Management Committee

Responsibilities

  • Develop, apply, and maintain an AML/CTF risk assessment framework in line with regulator expectations and NT policies/standards
  • Develop, review, and enhance AML policies and standards for compliance with Irish and international requirements
  • Provide technical expertise to senior management on regulatory/legal requirements
  • Interact with key risk functions including Legal, Operations, and Fraud teams
  • Work with Regional/Global AML compliance colleagues to develop global standards, knowledge transfer, and best practices
  • Provide reporting to governance committees and deliver annual AML Director Compliance training to Branch Management Committee
  • Promote a culture of AML compliance and risk awareness
  • Oversee unusual activity investigations and suspicious activity reporting, including timely investigation/escalation of potential money laundering, terror financing, fraud, or criminal activities
  • Develop oversight programme for global AML shared services, including Service Level Descriptions and KPIs
  • Develop and implement a risk-based monitoring plan for AML, CTF, and Sanctions compliance
  • Review new business activities for compliance and risks
  • Participate in projects to ensure Irish business and AML regulatory needs are met; deputise/represent Head of Compliance at forums
  • Investigate and submit suspicious transactions reports to Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and Revenue Commissioners
