Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a Physics, Mathematical Sciences, Engineering or Computing discipline (minimum 2.2)

Responsibilities

  • Design algorithms in Guidance, Control and Navigation (GCN) for missile and weapon systems across the product life cycle
  • Work in areas of expertise: Guidance (trajectory planning, target interception), Control (autopilot algorithms, flight dynamics), Navigation (state estimation using sensors), Command and Control (threat tracking, engagement planning)
  • Develop skills in coding, modelling, mathematics, flight dynamics, and control theory using tools like MATLAB/SIMULINK
  • Collaborate with other departments on missile complexities (propulsion, aerodynamics, seekers, sensors, actuators)
  • Gain broad technical knowledge of complex weapon system design and function
  • Work with international teams in MBDA (e.g., Paris, Rome)
  • Engage in integrated navigation (Terrain Reference Navigation, GPS integration, Image Based Navigation)
  • Perform autopilot and control system design and analysis (dual-mode control, thrust vector control)
  • Develop algorithms for mid-course guidance, terminal guidance, target tracking, and selectivity
  • Conduct data fusion from multiple sensors (radars, seekers, IMUs)
  • Implement AI techniques (neural networks, deep learning) to enhance GCN algorithms
  • Design autonomous decision-making systems for complex collective missions
