Requirements

  • 3 months of work history with the same employer
  • Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
  • Ability and willingness to scan or input into computer system all product film, boxes, casings, clips, and ingredients for all daily product runs, including change overs
  • Ability and willingness to follow formulations on the computer and accurately record and report food safety or product information
  • Ability and willingness to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level 20 pounds or greater frequently
  • Ability and willingness to lift/carry/lower more than 40 pounds with back and legs
  • Ability and willingness to push 2900 pounds (with assistance)
  • Ability and willingness to use rapid mental/muscular coordination simultaneously
  • Ability and willingness to flex/grip with hand/wrist frequently
  • Ability and willingness to stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours
  • Ability and willingness to work on elevated platforms and workstations
  • Ability and willingness to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees

Responsibilities

  • Follow computer generated formulations step by step
  • Scale and grind meats producing up to 10 preblends/hour
  • Empty mixers into two vats, each weighing approximately 2900 pounds
  • Move vats, weighing approximately 2900 pounds of product, from under mixer to staging area
  • Level tanks, keep the floor clean at all times, and follow general housekeeping duties
  • Use the computer-generated formulator for specific meat types to hit correct fat percentage for blends (once every 3 minutes)
  • Complete SAP functions with issuing meat prior to additions (complete for one blend every 6 minutes)
  • Complete grinder head checks
  • Complete all necessary paperwork
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements
  • Perform all positions of job rotation as needed
  • Perform any other work as assigned by management
