Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Vehicle Assembly Manufacturing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality areas such as Operations, Assurance, Management, Launch, Engineering, or Supplier Quality
  • Strong leadership skills and managerial courage with the ability to motivate and influence cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel, including plant staff, represented employees, functional departments, and corporate leadership
  • Project management experience and demonstrated success leading strategic initiatives
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (valid driver’s license and passport required)

Responsibilities

  • Lead Built-In Quality (BIQ) lean manufacturing calibrations and audits for Vehicle Assembly, Propulsion, Stamping, and Component plants
  • Own the GMNA BIQ Metric and BIQ Performance Scorecard; recommend certification or de-certification as appropriate
  • Own and maintain the GMNA Quality Manual, reviewing and authorizing deviations when necessary
  • Manage a team of Quality Systems Engineers supporting manufacturing operations
  • Maintain the GMNA Cost of Quality Workbook for Manufacturing Operations. Conduct annual performance reviews and benchmarking. Drive cost-of-quality improvements through continuous improvement workshops and headcount analysis
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Plant Quality Managers, including onboarding, monthly team meetings, and daily support
  • Represent GMNA as the single voice for Global Quality Requirement reviews, updates, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support Business Plan Deployment (BPD) as an Objective/Method owner and Strategic Project leader
  • Conduct ongoing Quality Metric performance analysis with proactive plant engagement
  • Provide manufacturing leadership and Plant Director support for Quality System initiatives, including communication and performance status updates
  • Partner with functional Shop Directors (Stamping, Body, Paint, General Assembly, Maintenance, Materials) to align quality objectives
  • Engage cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering (ME), Product Engineering (PE), Supplier Quality (SQ), and Global Supply Chain (GSC) to drive process improvements
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams to implement advanced quality technologies (e.g., vision systems, AI-based quality inspection) and standardized processes
