Requirements

  • Dynamic and experienced attorney with expertise in high-level strategy and detailed execution
  • Highly motivated legal professional capable of leading compliance program maturation and scaling for global growth and international expansion
  • Subject matter expertise in AI governance and privacy, including risks across AI development and deployment lifecycle, global regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF), AI policies, IP/data provenance, AI managed services, and IaaS
  • Expertise in international trade compliance, including sanctions (OFAC, UK, EU), export controls (EAR), and import regulations for global supply chains
  • Knowledge of anti-corruption and AML, including FCPA/anti-bribery, third-party due diligence (KYC/KYB), risk assessments, and internal investigations
  • Experience in operational and commercial compliance related to data center operations, physical infrastructure, supply chain integrity, geopolitical risk, industry certifications (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001), and commercial agreements/SLAs
  • Ability to work onsite in San Francisco, CA, 5 days/week

Responsibilities

  • Lead the maturation of Crusoe’s enterprise-wide ethics/compliance program, driving initiatives to enhance effectiveness and scalability
  • Manage evaluation and implementation of an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)/Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform
  • Review, refine, and draft corporate policies and procedures to ensure they are best-in-class and aligned with business objectives
  • Assist with managing compliance governance and reporting structure, providing updates to executive leadership
  • Evolve and deliver global compliance training program for employees and stakeholders
  • Serve as legal subject matter expert on AI, advising on risks, monitoring global regulatory landscape, and developing internal AI policies
  • Oversee and enhance compliance programs for international trade (sanctions, export/import controls)
  • Manage FCPA/anti-bribery and AML programs, including third-party due diligence, risk assessments, and internal investigations
  • Advise on compliance for global data center operations, supply chain integrity, geopolitical risk, certifications, and commercial agreements
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Procurement, Sales, HR, Operations, and Engineering to build cohesive risk management framework
