5+ years of proven payroll process experience in domestic/international payroll, preferably with Workday Payroll experience; CPP preferred
Good understanding of payroll process
Ability to manage a high-performing team of payroll analysts
Experience working cross-functionally with business partners in HRIS, Benefits, Compensation, Stock, Finance, and Legal
Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas
Responsibilities
Manage global payroll processing using Workday HCM, including three cycles (commissions, biweekly, semi-monthly payments), termination checks, and off-cycle payments
Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing with strong data integrity, compliant with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
Complete all payroll regulatory filings accurately and on time
Conduct quarter/year-end reconciliation of payroll and stock transactions
Collaborate to build and scale the payroll department, strengthen internal controls, and manage day-to-day operations
Set up and manage payroll in new states, provide input to payroll service providers, review, and approve payrolls
Provide high level of customer service to finance and non-finance business partners with financial insights and relevant reporting
Support quarterly reviews and annual audit requests from internal and external auditors
Execute GL month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Apply for tax IDs in new jurisdictions and maintain tax information using ADP Smart Compliance; handle stock transactions related to payroll reporting and tax withholdings
Respond to employee payroll inquiries with urgency, kindness, and empathy
Develop and maintain pay policies, payroll calendars, checklists, process maps, and procedural documentation to ensure compliance with local laws
Manage transmission of data files for FSA, HSA, and 401K plans
Conduct year-end audit of Wage & Tax Registers for accurate W2 and T4 processing
