Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in technology, with 7+ years in a senior leadership role managing platform, infrastructure, or SRE teams
  • Proven track record working at a firm with a similar high-stakes technology environment, such as exchanges, trading floors etc
  • Extensive experience operating within a regulated environment is highly preferred
  • Mastery of modern, multi-cloud architecture with deep, hands-on knowledge across at least two major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Demonstrable expertise in designing, building, and operating high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems
  • Proven domain knowledge in Foundational Engineering: Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform), large-scale technologies similar to Kubernetes, and automated CI/CD
  • Proven domain knowledge in Data Platform Engineering: Experience with enterprise-scale data lakes/lakehouses (e.g., Databricks, BigQuery), real-time data streaming technologies similar to Kafka, and MLOps infrastructure
  • Proven domain knowledge in Reliability & Quality: Deep, practical application of SRE principles (SLOs, error budgets, blameless post-mortems)
  • "Player-coach" leadership style who can command the respect of principal-level engineers and dive deep into complex architectural challenges

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the roadmap for all foundational technology, including multi-cloud strategy, enterprise data platforms, developer experience (DevEx), and SRE/QE practices
  • Lead the architecture of high-throughput, low-latency systems that serve as the bedrock for all products
  • Ensure core infrastructure meets the extreme performance demands of a global financial technology leader
  • Champion and scale System Reliability Engineering (SRE) practice across the enterprise
  • Accountable for the availability, latency, and resilience of critical shared services, especially within regulated entities
  • Empower application development teams by providing a world-class, automated platform for CI/CD, observability, and testing
  • Make the secure and reliable path the easiest path for all engineers
  • Manage and mentor multiple teams of senior, specialized engineers across Cloud, Data, and Reliability Engineering
  • Foster a culture of deep technical expertise and operational excellence as the firm's leading technical authority in these domains
