Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of related industry experience
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a meat processing facility
  • Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations
  • Standard computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, Safety, Security, Sanitation, Quality, yields, cost, and efficiencies; strong math ability a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in controlling expenses
  • Provide for the compliance and coordination of federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements
  • Interpret and enforce company policies
  • Assist in determining manpower needs and make recommendations
  • Prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure accuracy
  • Solve problems effectively with sound follow-up
  • Work with department heads to meet production, quality, yields, and goals while maintaining labor standards, performance, and product quality
  • Inspect and maintain high competence in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, and security
  • Supervise production supervisors and oversee all designated shift operations
  • Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members; carry out supervisory responsibilities per organizational policies and laws
  • Interview, hire, and train team members
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Monitor and appraise work performance; reward, coach, counsel, and discipline team members
  • Address complaints and resolve problems
  • All other duties as assigned
