High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
3-5 years of related industry experience
1-3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a meat processing facility
Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations
Standard computer skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, Safety, Security, Sanitation, Quality, yields, cost, and efficiencies; strong math ability a plus

Responsibilities

Assist in controlling expenses
Provide for the compliance and coordination of federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements
Interpret and enforce company policies
Assist in determining manpower needs and make recommendations
Prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure accuracy
Solve problems effectively with sound follow-up
Work with department heads to meet production, quality, yields, and goals while maintaining labor standards, performance, and product quality
Inspect and maintain high competence in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, and security
Supervise production supervisors and oversee all designated shift operations
Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members; carry out supervisory responsibilities per organizational policies and laws
Interview, hire, and train team members
Plan, assign, and direct work
Monitor and appraise work performance; reward, coach, counsel, and discipline team members
Address complaints and resolve problems
All other duties as assigned
