Requirements

Minimum of 6 months of mechanical work experience documented in work history or resume (e.g., mechanical troubleshooting, electrical/electronic troubleshooting, hydraulic troubleshooting, PLC troubleshooting and navigation, welding/fabrication, AC/DC control wiring, motor control, 3-phase wiring, plumbing, conveyor maintenance, hydraulics, or pneumatic systems)
Ability to perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs without supervision
Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision
Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel
Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and ability to adhere to Tyson Foods' safety policies and procedures
Ability to comply with lockout/tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs
Ability to work in varying temperatures (dusty, warm, cold, humid) and outside ambient conditions
Ability to effectively communicate with hourly team members and management in person and on radio
Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, stoop, climb ladders/lifts/scaffolds, work at heights exceeding 150 ft., and lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs
Willingness to work in all areas based on facility staffing needs and accept shift/location as determined by needs
Willingness to work Monday-Friday and Saturday when production is running, on B Shift (10:30p–7:00a)

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, fabricate, and perform preventive maintenance on all facility equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies
Provide troubleshooting and repair for mechanical or electrical malfunctions and breakdowns, including handling emergency situations
Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems
Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule
Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
Start all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision
Assist other mechanics as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
