Requirements

  • In-depth working knowledge of GAAP, month-end close processes, general and operational accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Proficient with ERP systems (working knowledge of D365 and/or OneStream is a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to effectively interact with all levels throughout the organization
  • Success at building relationships and collaborating cross-functionally across the organization
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, and able to work under minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to independently resolve issues and recommend process improvements

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the integrity of all accounting processes and financial records
  • Ensure complete and accurate month-end close processes are completed within established deadlines
  • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Develop an understanding of the business and how recurring and non-recurring transactions impact the balance sheet
  • Prepare, review, and/or post journal entries and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is included, in compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Actively coach and mentor staff and assist the Manager GL Ops with staff workflow, priority setting, and development
  • Act as a liaison with other accounting and finance groups to ensure complete and accurate communication of financial data
  • Assist team members in resolving month-end close related issues as they arise and escalate issues as necessary to management
  • Take initiative to investigate reconciling items or discrepancies and contact appropriate individuals to gather information in order to propose and implement solutions
  • Gather, research, and review documentation with auditors and assist auditors in their inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned
