Responsibilities

Assists in the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofs on commercial buildings
Removes old roofing materials
Prepares the work area
Carries materials
Applies new roofing components
Works under the direction of a foreman as part of a team
Shovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals into machine hoppers or into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels
Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist
Cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators
