Requirements

  • Native or near-native fluency in Traditional Chinese
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Minimum two years of experience in localization, preferably within the games industry
  • Solid understanding of the games industry, game genres, and popular intellectual property (IP)
  • Strong understanding of English grammar, colloquialisms, slang, and cultural nuances

Responsibilities

  • Translate in-game text, dubbing scripts, and marketing materials from English to Traditional Chinese
  • Assess Traditional Chinese localization materials for quality, cultural sensitivity, and accuracy
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of game glossaries and style guides
  • Collaborate with Localization Quality Assurance (LQA) teams to resolve linguistic issues
  • Consult with localization and LQA teams on cultural and historical matters related to China
  • Work with Chinese language leads and strategists to develop and refine localization strategies
  • Attend localization production meetings with relevant teams
  • Provide support to senior leadership as needed
